Sequoia and I went to junior high high school together and over the years had quite a few classes together.
I always love to chatting with Sequoia, but more than that, I loved engaging in debates with him, and those debates always ended up with one of us cracking up.
Our senior year we were both teachers aids and spent a lot of time trying to make the other one laugh as much as possible, I’d like to say I had the upper hand in that!
Another class we had was the advanced weightlifting PE class , when you spend that many years in the gym with somebody, you get to know them pretty well .
About 10 years ago., I was driving down into Capitola Village and running up the hill comes Sequoia ,without a shirt on of course.
I yelled something like, “Hey Evelshin, you can go faster than that !”
He ran over, gave me a very sweaty high five and kept going, with a big smile of course!

  • A Kindred Spirit

Adam I worked with Sequoia, but about half of the time we would spend talking, it was just about life – parenting and fatherhood, fitness and being outdoors, and philosophy on what really matters in life. I missed him when he left the firm but always imagined we would connect again. My heart goes out…
